Miss Emma Shakespeare, PhD Candidate, Griffith University; Cybercrime Prevention Team Member, Australian Federal Police

Emma Shakespeare is a PhD candidate at Griffith University, School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Her thesis examines interactions between police officers and conspiracy theorists, including sovereign citizens, through a procedural justice framework. She is supervised by Professor Kristina Murphy and Associate Professor Keiran Hardy.

Emma also works at the Australian Federal Police in the Cybercrime Prevention team as part of the Join Policing Cybercrime Coordination Centre (JPC3). She is passionate about bridging the gap and fostering collaboration between academia and operational practice, particularly in the law enforcement space. Her research interests include policing, conspiracy theories, anti-authority extremism and cybercrime prevention.
