Prashant Nayak
Prashant Nayak is a senior global security leader with more than 30 years of corporate security experience across multiple sectors, including media, banking, hospitality, and security logistics. He most recently served as Vice President of Global Security for The Walt Disney Company, where he spent 16 years overseeing security operations across Asia Pacific and MENA, covering over 50 countries and territories.
At Disney, Prashant was responsible for regional strategic security risk management, physical security operations, incident and crisis response, emergency preparedness, intelligence and threat assessment, investigations, event & production security, sensitive information protection and security governance programs. He supported a broad range of business lines including Disney+, Marvel, ESPN, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, 20 Century Studios, ABC News, Star and retail operations such as Disney Store and Disney Cruise Line. His role included safeguarding employees, guests, assets as well as high stakes environments like major productions, large-scale events and sensitive information.
His extensive corporate background also includes senior security leadership roles at HSBC as well as security positions in Brinks Inc., and the Taj Group of Hotels, where he built a strong foundation in navigating sector-specific security challenges in financial services, secure logistics, and hospitality.
Prashant holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Mumbai University and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, where he also earned a Certificate in Terrorism Studies. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Counter Terrorism Practitioner, Certified Ethical Hacker (EC-Council), Business Continuity Certified Specialist (BCMI), Certified Internal Auditor (QMS), and a Six Sigma Green Belt. He has also received specialized training in Cybersecurity, Cyber Crime Investigations, Computer Forensics, the Reid Technique of Investigative Interviewing and Advanced Interrogation, and Kidnap Incident Management.
He has been a prominent figure in regional and global security communities, serving for over 15 years in OSAC (Overseas Security Advisory Council) as CoChair in Mumbai and Singapore. He was actively involved in the Asia Crisis Security Group (ACSG) for over a decade and previously served as President of the Asia Pacific Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (APATAP). Prashant is also Co-Anchor of the DSCI Singapore Chapter.
As an advocate for security education, Prashant is a Public Safety and Security Programme Advisory Committee Member at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and frequently guest lectures at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at NTU. His contributions in this field were also recognized with the prestigious Nanyang Alumni Service Award. Prashant’s commitment to public safety is further demonstrated by his receipt of the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s Community First Responder Award for lifesaving action, as well as special recognition from the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2016 and 2022 for his enduring partnership with the Home Team Academy. His leadership is defined by a forward-thinking, strategic approach to security management—grounded in innovation, resilience, and a strong belief in security-by-design as a pillar of sustainable business success.
