Rachael McDermott, Emma Edwards and Kaylene Kilham

Campus Care is the Threat Assessment and Management Team at the University of Newcastle, focused on supporting and addressing threats to the safety and wellbeing of the university community. The team consists of highly skilled professionals with diverse expertise in mental health, as well as clinical and community-based settings. Rachael, a Social Worker, has been involved in Threat Assessment since 2017, bringing over 10 years of experience in acute mental health, including forensic units and high-risk community teams. Emma, an Occupational Therapist, joined the university in 2015 after a decade of experience in clinical mental health, with a specialisation in neurodiversity for five years before joining Campus Care in 2020. Kaylene Kilham, a Clinical Psychologist with three years on the Campus Care team, previously worked as a Counsellor at the university and managed the triage process in the university's wellbeing team. She has a broad background in private practice, government mental health projects, public mental health, and the school system. Together, the Campus Care team offers a multidisciplinary approach to managing complex and high-risk situations at the University of Newcastle.
